Short answer: Choose the Q Series CEE version when you have access to a suitable industrial socket and want to remove the charger from its wall mount for use at another compatible location. Choose the hardwired version for a fixed installation by qualified personnel. The input connection is separate from the vehicle connection: both Q versions use a Type 2 socket for a detachable vehicle charging cable.
What changes between the two inputs?
- CEE input: a factory-fitted industrial plug on a 0.5 m exposed input lead. The removable wall base lets you move the charger only after disconnecting its input. A suitable, correctly rated CEE supply is needed wherever it is used.
- Hardwired input: a 1.7 m exposed input lead for a fixed electrical connection. Installation and connection must be completed by qualified personnel.
The Q models offered here are three-phase 400 V configurations. The 11 kW versions are rated at up to 16 A per phase; the 22 kW versions at up to 32 A per phase. The CEE plug shown for these three-phase versions is red. Match the exact plug, socket, circuit and protection to the selected model with a qualified electrician; colour alone is not a sufficient compatibility check.
Will a 22 kW model charge my car faster?
Only if the vehicle’s onboard AC charger and the installation can support the higher power. The vehicle, available supply, circuit, cable and settings can limit the actual charging rate. See our 7.4 kW vs 11 kW vs 22 kW guide before choosing a power rating.
Check these details before ordering
- Ask a qualified electrician to confirm the supply, phases, circuit capacity and local installation requirements at the intended location.
- Check the vehicle’s maximum AC charging power and Type 2 cable requirements.
- Choose the exact input configuration. The CEE and hardwired models are different products; do not assume one can be connected as the other.
- Check the selected product’s package contents for a vehicle charging cable, mounting parts and optional accessories. The Type 2 socket does not itself establish that a vehicle cable is included.
- If you plan to relocate a CEE version, confirm a suitable supply at each location and disconnect the input before removing the charger from its mount.
Compare the four available Q configurations
- 11 kW: CEE input or hardwired input
- 22 kW: CEE input or hardwired input
